He's here!!!

  Yesterday at 12:04pm, Caleb Andrew came into our lives and we feel so blessed!  I will be taking a break (about 2 months) from blogging and photographing weddings and seniors.  Just wanted to let ya know;)  Until then, here's my new love....

Katie { Washington, PA Bridal session }

  A few weeks ago, I met up with bride-to-be, Katie and my friend, Tiffany with Simply Exceptional Events, LLC to shoot a fun fourth of July inspired bridal session.  Katie first had in mind a destination wedding and bought this dress for her big day.  However, her plans have changed a bit.  She's now getting married here in Pittsburgh with a more traditional wedding day in mind.  And by the way, I was lucky enough to see her new dress and it is AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS!!!  Since this dress (the one in the session) wasn't going to be her wedding day dress it still seemed like it needed to be photographed.  Katie was kind enough to get all dolled up and let me photograph her.  There were lots of fun D.I.Y. projects that I spent time on before the session.  Maybe later this month I can break down a few of them and share.  Until then, I'll just share what are the D.I.Y. projects in the pics.  Here's a few of my favorite shots from the session.

      The hand sewn initials ( Katie's future hubby-Scott Bowers:) in the locket and details on shoes are D.I.Y. projects that anyone could tackle.

        The garter belt is also a D.I.Y. project I made with a few items from around my home.  One including a broken ring that I couldn't make myself throw away.

   The birdcage veil was soooo easy to make!!!  Vintage blue brooch that was added for detail was a yardsale find.

         Just in case we wanted a traditional veil as well, I bought this material for $8 and bam...Katie models it like a pro! :)

                    Again, easy vintage clip on earrings with birdcage tulle makes every day red pumps look amazing!

                          This necklace is actually three vintage necklaces (and one brooch) as one.
                                      I'm not gonna lie, this D.I.Y. project took a long time.

                                      As always, hope you're having a wonderful day:)  Evie Pin It

Eight months!

  Today I'm eight months pregnant, but hey who's counting?  Me, I am!!!  :)  My bellybutton is officially M.I.A. and I can't reach my toes.  So, needless to say, I'm ready for Caleb to make his grand exit.

   I'm happy to announce that I only have one spot open left in June before I go on my maternity leave.  So, if you're in the Mon Valley area and are in need of a senior session, please contact me at evie@eviephotography.net or check out my site here and use the "contact page."  Thanks so much!!!  Evie

Alyssa + Scott { Little Rock Engagement}

  It was a gorgeous day in Little Rock when we shot Alyssa and Scott's engagement session.  A few places we shot at were The Capital Hotel, The Capital Cellar and Wildwood Park. I can't wait for their wedding in October!  Here's a few of my favorites from the day....

Be sure and stay tuned for Alyssa's bridal session post coming soon!  Evie

Little Rock

  This past weekend has been crazy busy!  I flew to Little Rock to shoot an engagement session and a bridal session  and boy was it hot there in Arkansas.  I can't wait to start editing, but first I have to post at least one picture from the backyard we shot the bridal session at.  I fell in love with this pool.  Like.  Entirely. Fell. In. Love.  (long sigh)  Hope you have more energy than I do today, because I'm exhausted.  Evie:)

Jessi

  Last week Jessi asked to shadow me for a day for a school project.  I was so excited she picked photography as her career.  I had some fun things planned out but today has been nothing but pouring down rain.  Not exactly the pretty light I wanted to show her how to shoot in.  So, we stayed inside.  I went over F-stops, shutter speeds and ISO.  Sounds real exciting, right?;)  I know, not really.  She's really interested in food photography.  I saw an orange in her kitchen so I had her think about how she wanted to cut it, place it, and stylize the image.  There's so much that goes into one shot!  She did a great job, but mostly she gets an A+ for not freaking out when she saw me at 8am with no makeup on and crazy frizzy hair:)  We also went over posing and natural light sources.  I couldn't help but post one shot from today....

Inspired by others

  Some mornings I wake up, log onto the internet and start to look at sites/blogs that I know will have killer images and ideas for weddings.  Creative juices start to flow and I get so excited about the next session or wedding I have.  I LOVE shooting weddings!  There isn't anything else I'd rather be able to shoot.

When I came across this cake today on Martha Stewart Weddings, I knew I wanted to share a few of my favorite places to browse for images. How awesome is this red velvet wedding cake?!?!

Here are a few sites/blogs I'd love to share if you're a bride-to-be...

and of course...

Hope you get inspired!!!  Evie
