Happy Tuesday:) The older I get I learn more about myself. I've realized if I'm not doing something artsy I get annoyed easily. lol I NEED to take pictures, sew, paint, design.....just something! So, this past week I didn't have a photoshoot, so I needed to do something creative. There was a piece of plywood in my garage calling my name. I decided it would be cool to do a family tree. With real branches. And with each family member as a birdie:) So, with ideas flowing, I got to work. I had a ton of fun designing this. And, I didn't have to buy one single thing! The birds are my favorite part, and let me tell you why. When my Grandma Lucy (small fact, I was named after her, my name is Evie Lucille) passed away, I told my Dad that I would love to have her craft stuff. So, I got a bunch of fabric scraps, a TON of buttons, and knitting needles. In the fabric though, it looked like my Grandma started to make a quilt. There were lots of sewed together squares. So, I decided to use these squares to make the birdes. Each bird took about 40 minutes to sew. But, I also used my Grandma's buttons for the eyes. Thought I'd share with you my little family tree...
Brian still has to attach a mounting bracket so it can hang on the wall...

lol, oh the married life:) Thanks Sheila!
I just can't get over how cute that is!!! I WANT ONE!!! Why didn't I inherit any creativity like that, huh?!?!?
Maybe I can make you one;)
That is pure awesomeness! I love, love LOVE it!!! So creative!
EVIE!!!!! This is tooooo toooo cute!!! Grandma Lucy is somewhere [gorgeous beyond all imagination] saying, "that's MY granddaughter!" :]
How fun! For some reason this whole thing really amused me! I think because I relate to your creativity. If I wasn't so doggone busy with work and schooling the kids and stuff, I think I'd do more stuff like this. Nothing nearly as cool as exactly this though...of course! There's only ONE Evie, after all, and I seriously can't compete!
The extent of my creativity this past week was painting my daughter's bedroom lavender, framing this sweet 18 x 24 painting she made of a blue and purple snail to hang in her newly painted room, and doing a blog post. Oh...and I made my husband a Father's Day card, if that counts.
Have a great time this weekend, btw!
GASP!!! Evie!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!! Awwww... now I miss Grandma Lucy... What an awesome idea!
