Updating My Front Porch

Hi guys!:)  My kids are on spring break this week, so pardon the lack of posts;)  My recent adventure has been getting my front porch ready for spring.  I LOVE SPRING!!!!!  (insert Roger Rabbit dance here) We are renting so I can't do too much, but it is in need of some T.L.C. A.S.A.P.  Wow, that's a lot of letters.  When I first posted on my new home here in PA my front porch looked like this....

Anyone out there expecting a baby soon knows all to well that any extra money goes towards medical bills, cribs, changing tables, clothes, diapers, etc.  So, I really only had about $100 to update my porch.  At least for my phase one;)

OK, so here's what I got.....
Two chairs from Wal-Mart (each $16.88)
Two pillows from Target (each 12.99)
Paint from Wal-Mart in Deep Sea Venture ($8)
Two trees and one sago palm from Wal-Mart ( $30)

And I searched my basement for goodies;)

I started with painting the above bench (yardsale find...TWO DOLLARS) a beautiful blue.

It's always a good idea to see what you already own;)  I pulled out one of my favorite pictures of my Dad.  He's taking his own picture while looking in a mirror.  And the blue bottle next to it he gave me.  It says, "Belleville, Ill" on it.  That's where my roots are from.

In my opinion you can never go wrong with white candles outside.  The shells are from last summer while swimming with the kids in Nixa, MO.

This bookshelf was in my basement and works great out here I think.  I bought it at a yardsale a few years back for three dollars.  It was a nasty brown.  It's amazing what some paint and sandpaper can do.

I think when you have kids, you have to decorate with them in mind.  With that being said,  I needed a place for all their outside toys.  Another yardsale find from a few years back, rod iron planter-seven dollars.

I repainted the top of the table to match the pillows.  Q-tips are perfect to paint dots;)

I'm praying these new trees don't die.  It's still hitting freezing temps here at night.  It's such a pain dragging these bad boys in every night:/

Phase two includes buying purple and yellow flowers for my planters on the ledge.  As well as finding outdoor fabric to cover these kid chairs.  I can't wait to just relax with my little family out here as soon as it warms up.

So that's my life right now.  What are you doing for spring?  Talk to me:)  Evie

Evie! Your porch is sooooo cute and full of fun ideas! I especially like the way you stored the random balls for playing ;D
What have I done for spring?....
not much. All my money is headed to Poland and Mascoutah at the moment, lol, but I did manage to scrape together the funds for 2 Wandering Jews for the front porch and 1 potted evergreen for the deck that I hope grows 50 ft this summer to give us some privacy on that side of the house :]
I hope you get lots of lazy afternoons this Spring and Summer to enjoy your super cute porch! :D
