Happy Birthday Hayden!

Today our son, Hayden is turning eight years old:)  Eight years old!!!!  Crazy.  A little after he woke up, he ate his normal birthday breakfast, colored pancakes.  This year he wanted orange and red.  Then he got a few gifts from his aunts.  One of them was a treasure hunt.  I LOVED this idea so much that I photographed it before it got destroyed.  My sister, Amy is so stinkin creative!!!  She didn't want to just send him money in a card, so she put together this whole package, including instructions for me.  Check it out....

It had all these fun clues that Hayden had to solve....

The last clue led him to under his pillow where there was a treasure chest waiting for him with some
goodies....

So, if you're in need of a great idea for a kid, try this!  Hayden LOVED running through the house finding cards.  The treasure chest is from Hobby Lobby.  However, it doesn't come painted.  Amy is amazing, so she distressed it;)  If you're not a painter though, I'm sure stickers would be great;)

I know I said a few posts back I would post Hayden's birthday session, but it's been so hot out, we haven't actually finished yet:(  Here's a few from his coin collection session....

And here's a few from the Mythbusters science lab session...

Hope everyone is doing great....I'm about to go give a little boy eight birthday kisses:) Evie

Oh WOW!!! Totally owned in the favorite aunt bearing a gift department!!! haha Amy is brilliant, that's all I can say - what an awesome idea!

And the photos are great! I've been cracking up over here looking at the details in the drawings, so cute! You really captured Hayden so perfectly in this shoot, Evie, great job!

Wouldn't it have been so cool when we were kids to have a mom who was as into photography and did this kind of stuff for us for our birthdays? (Mom, if you're reading this, don't feel bad, haha) Hayden will love looking at these sessions for the rest of his life!
